Jesus of the New Testament is Jehovah of the Old Testament

Posted: 11 June 2016

Jesus of the New Testament is Jehovah of the Old Testament

Mine, is this another clinger? Is this correct ? Is Jesus Christ of the New Testament, the Jehovah of the Old testament? Well, let us see what the prophet said:-

116 He came to reflect the Father, and the Father was the Word. Amen. Now I feel real religious. He came to reflect the Father's Word. God said He would be there, and there He was, the perfect masterpiece of God's great handiwork. Oh, my! He was the perfect reflection of Him. He reflected everything that--that God had spoke of. He reflected what Adam said about Him. He reflected about all the prophets said, about all the patriarchs said. Everything that He said, He was the fulfillment of the Word. All types was fulfilled in Him. Yeah. He became Jehovah of the New Testament. He was the Old Testament Jehovah. "The Word then," which was in the Pillar of Fire, "was made manifest and dwelt among us." Jehovah of the Old Testament became Jesus of the New Testament. He was a perfect reflection of God.

117 Oh, if the Church today could just reflect that first Church, when the Holy Ghost fell on the Day of Pentecost! If the Christian today could reflect! We are a hybrid bunch, to what they were.

The bible said without controversy, great is the mystery of Godliness: for God was manifested in the flesh.

1Ti 3:16

(16) And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

See, this is without controversy. God (not a part of God or some part of God or another part but GOD) was manifested in the flesh, justified IN the Spirit (not OF but IN) seen of angels (the angels announced the first Noel and the two men in white apparel in Acts 1: 11 spoke to the men of Galilee about His return in like manner).

Again, the prophet said , Everything God was He poured into Christ. What Christ was, He poured into His Church. Is this Oneness doctrine? No, because Jesus cannot be His own father, but God was His own Son. He was, said the prophet. That is a post Seal sermon too.

«  83       †          Now, He was thoroughly identified as Messiah. They should have know it. We know what Messiah was supposed to be. He was supposed to be a Prophet. That's what the Bible said He was. That's what He said He was. "I the Son of man, Who do you say I the Son of man am?" Always identify Himself as the Prophet age, identify Himself as God's Prophet. That's what He was.
84    But He was more than a prophet. He was the God-Prophet. What David was, what Moses was, what Elijah was, what all of it was, "in Him dwelt the fullness of the Godhead bodily." He was the God-Prophet. He was God, Jehovah, became a flesh in His Own Son, raised Hisself up a tabernacle to manifest Hisself in. All the rest of them failed, they had flaws; but there is no flaw in Him. Even God Himself said, "This is My beloved Son in whom I am pleased to dwell in." That's right, no flaw in Him. "Hear ye Him!" He was manifested God.
85    They said, "You make Yourself God, or equal with God." He was. He was His Own Son. Amen. He had... He was the manifestation of God. God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself.

Now can we say Jesus of the New Testament is Jehovah of the Old Testament? Of course He was. Lets take a look at Who is Melchizedec after this quote.

E-58 I love Him, oh, I love Him. I want to see Him. My deepest desire of my heart is to see that lovely Person, the Lord Jesus. Is that your desire this morning, Church of God? Is that your desire? May He share His blessings upon you. "All power in heavens and earth is given into My hands." and what God had, He poured... Everything God was He poured into Christ. What Christ was, He poured into His Church. The great fountains are open everywhere, ready. Just get rid of these little isms and so forth, and open up your heart, and say, "Lord Jesus, move into my heart."

Theology can never use such language to speak about who Jesus is. They think that Jesus was another person apart from His Father. Philip was asking the same thing. He said, Lord shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. And the Lord said unto him. “Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? He that hath seen me hath seen the Father, and how sayest thous then, Shew us the Father?

A woman one time was trying to teach the prophet. Well, it is like you and your wife are one. And the prophet said to her? “Not that kind of oneness”, said the prophet. “What do you mean”, asked the woman. “Well, when you see me, did you see my wife”? “No” the woman replied. “Well, Jesus said if you have seen Me, you see the Father also”. It is that kind of Oneness.

281-Q-63 63. Please explain the Trinity. How can the Son set at the right hand of the Father, interceding for the--to the Father, if they are not two persons?

Well, beloved friend, that's a... That's--that's a revelation. If Jesus said, "I and My Father are One," then how can they be two? See? Now, they're not two.

A woman once said to me, and I was explaining that, said, "You and your wife are--are two, yet you're one."

I said, "But God and the Son is different from that. See?" I said, You see me?"

"Do you see my wife?"

I said, "Then Father and Son's different; Jesus said, 'When you see Me, you've seen the Father.'" See?

The Father and the Son... The Father was Almighty Jehovah God dwelling in a Tabernacle called Jesus Christ, which was the anointed Son of God. Jesus was a Man; God is a Spirit. And no man has seen God at any time, but the only begotten of the Father has declared Him. He was... He... His Personality, His Being, His Deity, whatever He was, He was God. He was nothing less or nothing more than God. Yet, He was a man. He was a man, a house that God dwelt in. That's right. He was God's dwelling place.

282-440 Now, if you want some Scriptures on that... Brother Neville, if you'd get me St. Mark 14:62. And Sister Wood, you get me Ephesians 1:20. Somebody else have a Bible? Well, raise up your hand. Sister Arnold, you got one back there? All right, you get me Acts 7:55. All right. Mark 14:62, Brother Neville; and Sister Wood is Ephesians 1:20; Acts 7:55, Sister Arnold.

All right, do you have it, Brother Neville? All right, read now: [Brother Neville reads, "And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven."--Ed.]

All right, now, watch the first phrase there. Jesus said, "I AM." "I AM." Who was the I AM? There has never been a man in all the world could interpret It. Even the--you who read the Lexicons and so forth, there has never been a man who could make out... It's J-v-h-u. And even the Hebrew scholars could never pronounce it. That burning bush there, that day when He met with Moses, It was J-v-h-u. So they pronounced It "J-o-h, Jehovah," but It isn't "Jehovah." J-v-h-u (See?) no one knows.

And you say, "Well, Moses couldn't make It out."

He said, "Who can I say?"

He said, "Say, 'I AM' sent you: I AM."

Now, watch. I AM is a present tense, not "I was" or "I will be," I AM. Now, He said, "This will be a memorial through all generations: I AM."

282-448 Now, look at Jesus standing here at the feast that day. They said, "We know now you're crazy." Right words, "You're mad ('mad' is 'crazy'). We know you're crazy. You're a Samaritan, you got a devil." (St. John, the 6th chapter). And he said, "Now, you say that you're seen Abraham, and you're a man not over fifty years old?" He might've looked a little old for His age, but He was only thirty, but His work... Said, "You mean that you're a man not over fifty years old, and say you seen Abraham? We know you're crazy now." See?

He said, "Before Abraham was, I AM."

"I AM," He was the great I AM. Here He is telling these Jews again (See?), "I AM. And when you see Me coming at the right hand of the power..." Is that right? Read that again, brother.

[Brother Neville reads, "When you see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven."--Ed.]

283-451 Read yours now, Sister Wood. [Sister Wood says, Ephesians 1: 20?--Ed.]

Yes, ma'am.

[Sister Wood reads, "Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in heavenly places."--Ed.]

All right, read yours, sister. See, It's just the same.

[Sister Arnold reads, "But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God."--Ed.]

Now, see, God couldn't have a big right hand (See?) and Jesus standing on His right hand. The "right hand" means "the authority." See? Just for instance, if what if--if I was the full sway of the church here, I was a bishop of some sort, and Brother Neville took my place, he'd be my right hand. See, that means that he's--he would be at my right hand.

283-454 Now, Jesus is at the right hand of the power. Now, He says so, here in Ephesians, when he's explaining it, "He's at the right hand of the power." All the powers of heavens and earth (He said after His resurrection.) is given unto My hands. I have all the power in heavens and in earth. Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them into the Name of the Father, and Son, Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe all things which I have commanded you; lo, I'm with you always, to the end of the world."

"All the power in heavens and earth..." Where is that... If there's a god up there besides Him, he's powerless. See, there could be no other God. All the powers of heavens and earth lays in His hand. So, you see, standing on the right hand (as the person asked the question), doesn't mean...

284-456 Now, look. The body... God is a Spirit. Yeah, how many understands that, say "Amen." God is a Spirit; Jesus is a Man; and Jesus was God made flesh. Jesus was... We could never see God (See?); He's a Spirit. You can't see Spirit. "No man has seen God at any time." No man couldn't see God.

And let me say this, "You've never seen me." You've never seen me in all your life, and you never will see me. That's right. You see this body that declares this person that's in here. Now, this body doesn't have Eternal Life, but the spirit has Eternal Life. This body will go back, but it'll come forth again in its likeness, just like a grain of wheat goes into the ground.

Christianity is based upon resurrection, not replacement, resurrection. The same Jesus went down; the same Jesus come back. If you go down red-headed, you come back red-headed; if you go down black-headed, you come up black-headed. See, it's a resurrection.

Before we bring up the Person of Melchizedec, lets consider how God speak and address Himself. There are many such examples in the bible. Let us use one of them to bring home our point and when you catch that revelation of how God sometimes speak in the Third Person, you will understand His language is not our language. So we must only use His Language because God cannot lie.

Jdg 2:20-23

(20) And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel; and he said, Because that this people hath transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and have not hearkened unto my voice;
I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations which Joshua left when he died:
That through them I may prove Israel, whether they will keep the way of the LORD to walk therein, as their fathers did keep it, or not.
Therefore the LORD left those nations, without driving them out hastily; neither delivered he them into the hand of Joshua.

In verse 21, God spoke in the first person and in verse 22, He said, “I may prove Israel, whether they will keep the way of the LORD to walk therein….” Notice He said the way of the LORD rather than MY way. If we use our human mind, we would say the LORD would be another being!?? And you can convince the foolish to believe there are two gods if you shout loud and emphatically about it...but it would still be a false interpretation of two Lords.

Let's take another verse :

Psa 110:1
(1) A Psalm of David. The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

The first reference LORD refers to Jehovah. The second reference “my Lord” refers to the Psalmist, David's Lord or Messiah. In the Millennium, the Messiah rules as the Son of David, hence the Lord Jesus asked the supposedly learned scribe because the Lord perceived that the said scribe answered discretely?

Mar 12:37
(37) David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he then his son? And the common people heard him gladly.

Luk 20:41-44
(41) And he said unto them, How say they that Christ is David's son?
And David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
Till I make thine enemies thy footstool.
David therefore calleth him Lord, how is he then his son?

That particular scribe may not be aware of it then, but the Lord was showing him old testament scriptures which had skipped their attention. It had escaped most every theologian or scribes until the Lord Himself declared at the end of the bible, Rev 22:16 that He was both the ROOT and the OFFSPRING of David, and the bright and morning star.

Rev 22:16
I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

He is the ROOT because He is Jehovah and He is the Offspring because He is Jesus Christ, the genealogy of Adam, to Abraham and to David of the Tribe of Judah. He is the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. O, how perfect is this not just root and offspring, but THE root and THE offspring. Only ONE. It was asked me by one who thinks he had a better revelation of the Godhead, "How many fathers you know can be their own son"? He thought it was impossible. But with God all things are possible. Only ONE such Father.

Here are the scriptures from three of the gospels, and they all used the same Greek word Kurios, or Strong Greek reference, G2962.

From κῦρος kuros (supremacy); supreme in authority, that is, (as noun) controller; by implication Mr. (as a respectful title): - God, Lord, master, Sir.

Mat_22:44 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?

Mar_12:36 For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.

Luk_20:42 And David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

But many of the two lords like to use these verses to try to show that there are two distinctive being, not realizing that it is distinctive only in office or dispensation and not that there are two lords... Had they read further into Psalms 110, they would come across this

Psa 110:4-5
(4) The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.
The Lord* at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.

You see, while the sopherim may have change the word Lord* to Adonai (one of 134 such changes), the Greek text did not and you can find all reference in the New Testament using the same word for LORD and Lord.

Paul amplified this in greater details when he wrote to the Hebrew listeners, that the Levitical priesthood nor any priest or minister cannot perfect the sinner, but the blood of Christ. And that sacrifice was presented before God, with incense by this Priest made after the order of the Most High Priest Melchisedec (new testament spelling).

Now are there three Beings in Paul's letter to the Hebrew? God, and the High Priest Melchisedec and the Lord Jesus Chrst? See, without revelation, how can any human ever hope to understand. It would be like Nicodemus they would be puzzled by the language the Lord Jesus was using, You must be born again!

To be continued…..Who is this Melchisedec and Where is He today?
